US – Sports Car Sales Figures

The GCBC Analysis

Sports car sales in the U.S. were a mixed bag of results for the month of September and have been that way YTD as well.

For example, muscle cars and misc sports cars both saw sales decline in the month of September and YTD. Muscle car sales dropped across the board. Misc sports cars were a bit more varied, but the vast majority of the models on sale saw sales decrease for both the month of September and so far this year.

On the opposite side, we’ve got European sports car sales and premium sports car sales. Both areas of the market saw sales rise for the month of September and YTD.

The new models in the European sports car segment carried the segment. They include the BMW 8-Series and the BMW Z4. On the premium sports car side of things, the standout models include the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, Ford GT, and the Acura NSX.

We expect a similar breakdown of sports car sales to continue in the coming months.
